When you got your bra home and it wasn’t as you expected

It’s happened to all of us at some point; we’ve bought something online, got it home and then been disappointed once we’ve unpacked it. The size wasn’t at all as anticipated. Here are our tips for a smooth shopping experience and what you should do when something isn’t as you expected and how to reduce the risk of it happening again.

Our experts’ personal favourite bras

A Miss Mary designer working with different models of bras all day spends a lot more time thinking about bras than the average woman. That’s why we wanted to hear more from the design department about what they consider when buying a bra, what they choose to wear in their personal lives and if they have any favourites from the Miss Mary range. What are our experts’ personal picks?

Bra problem: 5 signs your cups don’t fit properly

When it comes to finding the right bra size and fit, you shouldn’t fixate on measurements and sizing charts. They’re only meant to provide an indication and starting point. It’s better to try a bra in the size that you think is right and adjust from there until you find the right size. Here are 5 signs that you’re wearing the wrong cup size and how to correct it.

Why is the bra band so important?

A lot of focus is put on whether you’re wearing a cup size that’s too small or too big, but how the bra fits around your upper body and back is just as, if not more, important. Here’s why the band is important and what you need to pay extra attention to next time you’re trying a bra.

Why 5 bras are better than 2…

How many bras do you really need in your wardrobe? One, two, three…twenty? Is it ok to own just one bra that you use, wash, dry overnight and then use again the next morning? Absolutely, if you want to buy a new bra every other month. Here’s why five bras are better than two (and no, we’re not saying that just to sell more bras).

She helps women find the right bra size without meeting them in person

Miss Mary of Sweden’s customer service advises women all over the world every day on different bra problems. We asked our customer service manager Ida about her top tips on how to work out which size women should wear without meeting them and how they work to provide the best possible experience to the customer.

Which bra personality are you?

The choice of a bra is highly personal. Do you choose the bra because you love the look of it or because it feels so comfortable? Maybe style and looks don’t matter as much, maybe you prefer one with functional features. We have listed the most common bra archetypes and picked a top bra choice for each persona. Which one are you?

Help! My bra feels too warm

Bras can sometimes feel warm for various reasons, perhaps because of the time of year, the menopause, medication or some other cause. Whatever the reason, there’s a solution. Here’s what you should look for in a bra or underwear so they don’t make you feel even warmer.

Are there undergarments that cool the body?

During the warm months of the year or during the menopause, it’s nice to wear cooler garments. Our best suggestion for dressing to stay cool is to start underneath, i.e. with the right kind of undergarments. It can really make a difference. Here, we take a closer look at something many don’t know exists – undergarments that cool the skin.

As a designer my focus is always on Miss Mary’s customers

What is it like working as a lingerie designer? This week in our blog we meet Miss Mary’s designer and pattern designer Marie-Louise Asphäll to get an insight into how new collections are created. We also ask her if she has any personal favourites in the range. You’ll find the answers to this and much more in our in-depth interview.

HOW DO I WORK OUT MY BRA SIZE?

How long was it since you checked what bra size you actually have? There is a good chance you may have changed size since you last measured. Women change their bra size about 4-5 times during their adult life. Use our guide to measure your size in three easy steps.

Uplifting experiences – when the right lingerie change your life

Wearing the wrong bra can spoil your day. But then suddenly you find that perfect fitting bra and just like that things change. Today, we let our customers describe in their own words their feeling when they found Miss Mary.

We are passionate about creating undergarments and we live for all the great feedback we get. Recently, the daughter of a hundred-year-old lady phoned and ordered bras for her mother. She told us that her mother had worn Miss Mary for over 40 years (!) and didn’t want to wear any other brand. That was lovely to hear.

How to check if you’re wearing the wrong bra size

The first thing many women do when they step inside the door at home is to take off their bra. But should a bra really be so uncomfortable that you don’t want to wear it? No, absolutely not. A bra that fits perfectly should never feel uncomfortable. So, today we’re going to go through how a bra should NOT fit and how to fix the problem.

The tricks that will help you find the perfect bra for a heavy bust!

Far from all bras give good support. The bigger the cup size and the heavier the bust, the more difficult it is to find the optimal bra. But there are tricks you can use. We go through what you need to think about when you buy a bra for a big, heavy bust.

‘A bra should feel comfortable whatever the size’

13 reasons to love a bodysuit

The body is a classic among undergarments and never seems to go out of fashion. In this week’s blog post we look more closely at all the advantages of wearing a bodysuit.

1. Most bodies have an inbuilt bra that gives support to the bust. The body itself ensures that the bra in turn stays in place and doesn’t glide up the back like a normal bra can when you bend down or move around too much. Some women have problems with the bottom edge of a normal bra folding up under the bust. This cannot happen when you wear a body.

CREATING A BRA WARDROBE 5 SIMPLE STEPS

The easy way to build a basic bra wardrobe

So, how many bras do you really need? Just as with your basic wardrobe, it’s a good idea to also give some extra thought to what is in your undergarment drawer. Just a few bra types will go a long way when building up and planning your bra wardrobe. Here are five different types of bras that we think should be represented in every woman’s wardrobe and that cover most needs and occasions.

FLEXIBLE AND FUNCTIONAL FOR EVERYDAY WEAR

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A T-SHIRT BRA, A MOULDED CUP AND A CONTOUR BRA?

A T-shirt bra is the perfect basic garment in your undergarment wardrobe and one of the most popular types of bra. But what really is a T-shirt bra? And is there any difference between a contour bra, a moulded bra and a T-shirt bra? We are going to clarify the terms.

Should I choose a moulded cup or one with seams?

The choice of a moulded cup or one with seams is more than just a question of preference and taste. Both variants have a place in a woman’s bra wardrobe, but they also have different properties that make them particularly suited to different occasions and body types. We will go through the advantages and disadvantages of both.
